The first time I laid eyes on this sweater, I knew it was meant to be mine, because:
A: it's fuzzy and pink
B: the word "original" was on it.
Duh.
My unapologetic girly side was beaming with joy.
I'm getting older, I don't care if you think I'm trying to look like
a teenage girl, because I'm not: I just LOVE the damn sweater.
Also, my unapologetic girly side was happy to find these
cute angel wings painted on a pretty pink wall in Okinawa.
I didn't really know the "story" behind it, so my curious/nosy self went snooping
around the internet and Instagram to see if I can find out what
it's all about by searching "Colette Miller" and "global angel wings project"...
It turns out that Colette Miller, is an artist who goes around the world
painting herfamous wings on street walls
to "remind humanity that we are angels of this earth, and "to remind us of peace"
This particular pair of wings in Okinawa however, were
sponsored by Orion Beer, an Okinawan beer company.
I love the wings, the concept, and everything about it.
I've seen these wings on Instagram but only in California and Hawaii
so I was pleasantly shocked and happy when I saw these wings
painted on a wall all the way in Okinawa, Japan...
Back to my pink sweater...
Since it doesn't get really REALLY cold here in Okinawa, (since it's an island)
I don't really want to own many sweaters, but
if I do buy them, I told myself to
only buy bright, colorful, "statement" sweaters, and maybe
a few basic ones....
( I had to pose in this store: It's called "Don Quijote", it's like a crazy, Asian version of a Wal-mart...)
In the next 2 photos I'm sharing, I had lunch with my sister at this very cute, and Insta-worthy cafe...
...of course I had to take a photo with this wall because my pink sweater matched....
I actually didn't expect the food to be that great, but I was pleasantly surprised...
it was really tasty, and the amount of food was just right...
the meal was not too heavy or too light...
How do you feel about bright, (pink), bold, statement sweaters?
Love? Hate?
Let me know what you think. Thanks for reading!
